ECICL Organizational Meeting: Questionnaire

2010-2011: Following email was given to ECICL coaches:

There will be an East Central Illinois Chess League (ECICL) organizational meeting at Mahomet-Seymour High School on September 9, 2010, at 5:30. Please bring any questions or concerns you have. If you cannot make the meeting, please make an attempt to have another school representative present.

To make the meeting more productive, please respond back by telling me the dates you are available:

October 7, October 14, October 21, October 28, November 4, November 11, November 18,
December 2, December 9, December 16, January 6, January 13, January 20, January 27
** FYI Oct. 23 is the Trahan Tournament, December 4 is the Fresh-Soph, January 8 is the Illini Classic, January 29 is the Phenicie Tournament, and Feb. 11-12 is the IHSA State.

Also, I would appreciate if coaches would answer the following questions:
1. What is the preferred junior varsity time? 60/5? 45/5? Something else?
2. How do we want to do the Phenicie? The same? League Championship (and can be a state qualifying tournament)?
3. Many Chicago area leagues have done some other challenges. What is the thoughts about one night having a Bughouse, Blitz, and Speed Chess League Tournament?
4. Does the current East-West format work? The same as last year? Split into two separate divisions during the year?
5. Which side, East or West, do you prefer?
6. Any other concerns or questions?

If you have no opinion, please tell me. I want to get out a tentative schedule and results to the survey BEFORE we meet. I don't think any of this will take too long, and I want to make the meeting more efficient.

Fall Planning

2010-2011: Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. In August, a survey will be sent to all current coaches asking for calendar information (available dates), thoughts about current format of meets, tournament set up, and possibly splitting into an East/West league. Make sure you check your email!

Remember, coach's meeting will be September 9, 2010, at 5:30 at Mahomet-Seymour High School.

Fall 2010 Organization Meeting

The 2010-2011 ECICL Organization Meeting will be held on September 9, 2010, at 5:30, at Mahomet-Seymour High School. All participating schools are required to have a member in attendance.
