Against Palatine, Olympia lost quickly. They finished 3-4 for the season.

2010: Mahomet Update Round 7

Mahomet, currently 3-3, is playing Palos Hills Stagg. Evan Millam is the last game, and he needs to either draw or win to claim the match. Mr. Millam is up a minor piece and has every expectation of winning against Khalil Hasan.

2010: Heyworth Update Round 7

One has to admire the Heyworth effort. There are no quick games or gimmes. Against Chicago De La Salle, Heyworth needs to win its last three matches to pull out a victory. Currently they are 3-3.

Normal seems in control against Morton in the last round, with wins by Kallakuri, Wadia, and Coon. Normal ended up 4-3 for the day.

2010: Bismarck Final Standings

Bismarck edged out Oak Park to end up 3.5-3.5. They had some very difficult games early on, and struggled to get back to .500. A draw by 1st Board Larry Porter clinched the victory.

2010: Early Round 6

Bismark Henning is losing their match and probably will not recover.
Bloomington has already lost with a couple games still to finish.
Danville needs a win in the final two to get the win.
U-High needs a draw in the last two games to win their match,
Uni has lost board 8 and is in trouble on board 1. The middle will have to hold to win this match.
Normal Community has won board 1 but dropped 7 and 8.

Mahomet has won boards 3 and 8 while losing 5.
Heyworth has lost boards 4 and 6.
Georgetown has to win all 4 remaining games to save this round.

2010: Race for the hardware

Congratualtions to Uni High. For the sixth straight year Uni will be the highest scoring 1A team. Right now Heyworth, Olympia, and Bismark-Henning are pulling for the Illineks to win their last round against rival IMSA and score one of the IHSA trophies leaving the 1A prize for one of them.
In class 2A Charleston and U-High are tied with 4 points along with two other teams. Charleston is paired down and U-High is paired up and it appears Charleston has the tiebreaker edge. It should be an exciting finish.
In class 3A Bloomington, Danville, and Normal Community are two points behind leader IMSA and also trail a number of 4 point teams. This makes them very long shots to win the 3A trophy even if IMSA wins its last round and gets a IHSA trophy They would still need quite a bit of help to come from so far back.

In a must win position, Daniel Cheng pulled out the win to propel Uni to 5-1. With the win over Naperville North, Uni has a chance to go 6-1 and be squarely in the top 10. Coach Merli and Coach Garvey must be very excited as Uni just destroys the competition.

2010: Bismarck Round 6 Update

The match against Elk Grove Village hinges on 4th Board Tim Geiselman pulling out a win. Both sides have approximately 2 minutes left, but Elk Grove's Tim Whiddon should be able to pull out the win. If Bismarck loses, they fall to 2.5-3.5. Still, Bismarck has played extremely difficult competition this year at the tournament, and Coach Hasty has gotten the team dedicated and a force to be reckoned with at State.

2010: Uni High Update Round 6

Uni is playing #13 Naperville North on Table 11. With wins by Max Sigalov, Kathy Qui, and John Vaughen, the match comes down to 4th Board Daniel Cheng needing a win. The match is extremely close, with Naperville's Daniel Kumor very low on time.
