ECICL Internet League

Bloomington/Normal coaches expressed interest in developing online matches. From this, the idea was researched and developed. The ECICL Internet League is currently being piloted by Normal Community and Danville High School. Currently there is a plan to play G15/5 on Thursday, March 1, 2012. If all goes well, there will be a third division for 2012-2013 play: East Division, West Division, and Internet Division.

Results for Spring 2012 will be posted, as well as games and highlights. Play in the Internet Division will be optional and guidelines will be forthcoming. Any other ECICL team or IHSA team interested in playing should email David Coker for further information. The only thing left at this point is to actually schedule the matches, with everything else already set up! We will keep everyone posted.

State 2012 Round 5

After five matches, the standings are as follows:
Uni proved no match for Niles North, dropping to 4-1
Heyworth lost a squeaker to Morton and is now 2-3
Charleston won a close one over Glenbard East, making them 3-2
Bismarck won easily over Schaumburg, going 3-2 after 5 rounds
Urbana beat Lincoln-Way East, improving 3-2
Danville won a close one with Midlothian, making the team 2-3
Bloomington took down Barrington handedly, improving to 3-2
Normal U-High got blanked by Downers Grove, falling to 3-2.
Normal Community beat Galva, improving to 3-2
Mahomet got its first victory over Ottawa, which is good considering Mahomet only has 6 players
Mattoon barely lost to Dolton Thornridge, leaving them in the hunt for the first win
Stanford got a victory over Elmhurst York, improving to 2-3
Normal West could not get past Chicago Heights, leaving the team at 1-4
The record for the ECICL is 30-35, leaving the league at -5 for the tournament.

Uni beat Naperville Central to become 3-0 and currently tied for 3rd. David Dlott, Kathy Qiu, Shawn Lu, Max Sigalov, and George Ruan are undefeated.
Heyworth lost to Hinsdale Central and are 2-1 (33rd). Alex Russell is 2-1
Charleston took done Rich South and are 2-1 (52nd). Board 2 Jonah Hiltebeitel is 2-1.
Bismarck lost to Marengo to fall to 1-2 (74th). Board 1 Ken Albin is currently 2-1.
Urbana fell to 1-2 after losing to Waubonsie Valley (88th). Penny Xu is leading the team at 2-1.
Danville lost to Plainfield South and are 1-2 (94th). Board 4 Elisha Cardinal is 2-1.
Bloomington beat Riverside and at 2-1 (20th). Alex Fazzini on Board 6 is undefeated.
Normal U-High beat Hoffman Conant to rise to 2-1 (34th). Board 2 Jordan Evans is undefeated.
Normal Community beat Elmhurst York to become 2-1 (46th). Board 7 Anurag Kurumball is undefeated.
Mahomet barely lost to Highland Park to remain 0-3 (120nd). Board 1 Lucas Selig is leading the team at 2.5-0.5.
Mattoon still hasn't got its first victory after falling to Lincoln Way (122nd). Hayden Rawlings and Mark Cole are leading the team.
Stanford got its first win against Belleville East (90th). Board 1 Jarek Milburg improved to 2-1.

After two rounds of play:
Uni is 2-0 after beating Barrington
Heyworth improves to 2-0, winning against Oswego
Bloomington bounces back to 1-1 by taking down Elgin
U-High is now 1-1 with a win over Palatine
Normal Community beat Rockford Jefferson to go to 1-1
Charleston was no match against top ranked Chicago Northside, falling to 1-1
Bismarck couldn't get past Glenbard South, falling to 1-1
Urbana dropped a match to powerhouse Stevenson, and is now 1-1
Danville got blanked by Riverside, dropping to 1-1
Mahomet couldn't overcome Richton Park and still hopes for first win with 6 players
Normal West lost to Palos Heights and is now 0-2
Stanford lost to Niles West and is 0-2
Mattoon got beaten by Bensenville and is 0-2
Overall ECICL record: 11-15. There are still two undefeated ECICL teams.
